To My Weight Loss Success Pages!

My name is Barbara and I have had a successful gastric bypass surgery performed in February of 2006. I am the daughter of Sylvia who is the owner and webmaster of this main site for Gypsy the red Chihuahua. My Mom said she is proud of my weight loss success and all that I have been through to achieve my lifelong dream of becoming a normal size woman. So, she offered to build me my own pages to share my experience with others in much the same way she openly shared her experience with having had breast cancer and subsequent treatments in 2005.

succesful, weight, loss, story, pages, gastric, bypass, surgery, patient, obesity, obese, morbidlyGastric bypass surgery is performed routinely in hospitals every day throughout the United States. But it is a serious operation and a serious decision to make that requires a deep commitment by the patient for the rest of their life. Gastric bypass surgery is not the answer for everyone who needs to lose weight, but is meant to be used only for people who are morbidly obese and have tried many times to loose weight without long-lasting success. There is a lot of information on the internet about gastric bypass  surgery, some of it good and some of it misleading. That is why I wanted to share my own experience with people. My gastric bypass surgery went well and I had very few side effects in the critical months following my surgery.

If my personal pages help even one person change their life for the better it will be well worth having shared it with the world. I hope my pages are beneficial, informative and encouraging to the thousands of people out there who are morbidly obese and feel there is no hope. They live lonely lives and endure much scorn and prejudice from an ignorant society that doesn't understand that obesity is a disease. The morbidly obese are one of the most socially outcast members of society who need our love and understanding, not our scorn.

If you enjoyed my pages my Mother Sylvia built for me, please take a moment to sign my guestbook or you can email me personally at:
