This is Gypsy in her
Diva Act. She uses this act often as a means of getting her
way or inflicting deep guilt wounds on unsuspecting humans. She
can sit for prolonged periods staring intently like this into
the eyes of whoever she wants to impose her will upon, never
flinching, never blinking an eye. If necessary, she will muster
up a tiny tear in one eye just to get her point across. If you
can bear to look in the eyes of The Diva and not give her
anything she wants, then you're a stronger person than I.
Blankets are important props in her Diva
roles and pink is her preferred color. Read
The Story of the Pink Binkit
to find out why we say pink is her signature color just
like Julia Roberts, another diva of sorts, who starred in
Steel Magnolias.

Footnote From Gypsy's Owner About this
Photo:
I have taken hundreds, maybe thousands of photos
of Gypsy in the eight years that I have owned her. But this
photo alone is my favorite to date. The pose with her head
covered with the blanket is so typical and occurs on a daily
basis. It is hard to capture on film, though, because it is
"un-posed" and not something in a fixed setting where I can
control the environment such as when I am taking pictures with
her in costumes. So, usually when she strikes this Diva pose by
the time I grab the camera and try to take the picture she has
caught on, moved and the opportunity is lost. But recently I
moved some rooms around in my home and put my office in the back
of the house and placed a new bed for Gypsy right beside my
computer where she often sleeps while I am working. My digital
camera is always sitting right beside me at the computer because
I use it often and download photos. One evening near Christmas
in 2004 Gypsy was asleep beside me for a long time while I
worked at the computer. When the time came for our usual bedtime
Gypsy stirred in her bed and struck this pose, gazing at me
intently just as you see in the picture, wanting me to stop
working and go to bed with her. I slowly and as quietly as
possible reached for my camera and turned it on, holding my
breath because the look she was giving me was priceless and
showed me her very soul. I managed to pop off three shots. Only
the first one was any good, the results you see above. I suspect
it may be another 1,000 camera shots before I get another one
like this, if ever. But if you look closely into her eyes you
can see her love....
